A Simple Monthly Feeding Schedule for Flowering Plants

Consistent, light feeding beats occasional heavy doses. For flowering plants in pots, try this monthly rhythm: week 1, a dose of organic manure or vermicompost worked into the topsoil; week 2, a diluted seaweed or humic acid tonic as a soil drench; week 3, a bloom booster (high phosphorus-potash) to support bud formation; week 4, rest, with only plain water.

Adjust the intensity by season — reduce feeding in peak monsoon and winter dormancy, and increase slightly during the main flowering push. Over-fertilising is a common mistake; when in doubt, feed less and more often rather than more at once.
